A Jim Thorpe woman faces charges in connection with the death of a 79-year-old man in Penn Forest Township over the weekend.
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said Ashley Self, 32, is charged with involuntary manslaughter, recklessly endangering the welfare of a person and simple assault.
She will be arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Eric Schrantz of Jim Thorpe.
Police said they were heading to serve a warrant on Parker Mews in the township on Sunday at about 9 a.m. when they received a call of an altercation taking place at the residence.
Police said they found the man unresponsive. He was transported to a local medical facility where he was pronounced dead.
Police said Self was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
The name of the victim has not been released by police.
Self also faces charges of burglary and criminal trespass after burglarizing a home on Coyote Drive in Penn Forest Township last month.
According to that report, on July 21, Self was arrested after she entered a home through an unlocked window on the deck.
She was arrested and taken to Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 bail.
Self waived charges to court during a preliminary hearing before Schrantz on July 30 and bail was changed to $5,000, 10%.
Self posted bail and was released from prison on Aug. 5.
