Penn Forest Supervisors
The following business was approved at August’s Penn Forest Board of Supervisors meeting:
• Application renewal from Carbon County Conservation District for the Hawk Falls bridge replacement project was submitted.
• An audit of Carbon County District Court 56-3-01 year ending Dec. 24, 2024, was approved.
• Jim Thorpe Area Band Boosters donation request for $300 was approved.
• Repairs were ratified for the 2019 Ford F-550 at All Points at a cost of $3,789.44. Approval was given for Penn Forest Garage’s total estimate of $1,203.85 — $322.06 to remove and replace battery and $880.79 to replace transmission lines/hoses on the truck.
• A rebid went out for the Transfer Station’s ramp project. The Innovative Industrial Solutions estimate to refurbish and repair two compactors at a cost of $3,561.97 was approved.
• Will advertise to adopt zoning ordinance and SALDO amendments for Sept. 2 meeting.
• Supervisor Scott Lignore submitted his resignation as Assistant Roadmaster, James Denier was appointed in his place.
• A write off of $1,313.28 for sanitation and general fund was approved. Treasurer Holly Rivera explained, “The ACH’s are our fault. Multiple checks were never recorded from 2024 and there is one missing check that was never deposited.”
• There were 87 Right to Know requests for the month of July totaling 70.25 hours.
• A time extension until Nov. 25 was approved for Gullone Plaza, Route 903, land development multipurpose building with parking.
• The next regular meeting of the Penn Forest Township board of supervisors will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m.
