Wentz crosses the finish line in a time of 33:48, 15 seconds ahead of runner-up Jim Rinker of McAdoo. David Robinston of Lehighton places third. The top female finisher is Mary Jean Crooks of Allentown, whose time of 43:24 betters second-place runner Tracy Ashner of Lehighton by 21 seconds. In age group categories, local winners include Lehighton’s John Huntington (male 30-39), Palmerton’s Mary Searles (female 20-29) and Jim Thorpe’s Linda Clay (female 30 and over).
