Senate will stream meeting Monday to discuss data centers

The state Senate Majority Policy Committee, chaired by Sen. David Argall, R-29, will visit Archbald to review data center development.

The public hearing will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Valley View High School Auditorium, 1 Columbus Drive, Archbald.

Participants will include Merle Madrid Sr., manager of public policy at Amazon; John L. Augustine III, president of Penn’s Northeast; Abby Smith, president, Team Pennsylvania; Neal Lesher of Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry; Christine Martin, president, PPL Electric Utilities; and Jonathan Lutz of American Petroleum Institute.

In addition, there will be representatives from the Susquehanna River Basin Commission, Delaware River Basin Commission, Marcellus Shale Coalition and Pennsylvania American Water. A host of elected officials will also participate.

Additional participants are expected.
