State police at Fogelsville - crashes

State police at the Fogelsville barracks reported the following crashes:

• Julia A. Morell, 22, of Palmerton, and Jayneya M. Cordero, 20, of Kempton, were injured after a two-vehicle crash at 7:53 a.m. July 31 at the intersection of Kistler Valley and Schochary roads in Lynn Township.

Police said Morell was transported by personnel from the Cetronia Ambulance Corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township, while Cordero refused a medical services transport from the scene.

They said the crash occurred as Morell was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on Schochary Road when she proceeded through a stop sign into the intersection of Kistler Valley Road and into the path of a 2015 Subaru Impreza driven west by Cordero.

Morell was cited after the crash, according to police.

• Chad A. Deiter, 44, of Tamaqua, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 7 a.m. July 28 on Route 100 in Lowhill Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Cetronia Ambulance Corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township.

They said the crash occurred as he was driving a 2014 GMC Savana van southbound when it made contact with a 2023 Mack Truck Anthem driven by Umer I. Malik, 34, of Allentown, who had come to a complete stop in the northbound lane. Police said the front bumper of the Savana hit the power unit of the Anthem before striking its rear axles, resulting in Deiter being trapped in his vehicle.

Police said Malik was uninjured.

Deiter was cited after the crash, according to police.
