August 5, 1987 — Daryl Snyder stars on the mound and in the batter’s box as Jim Thorpe cruises to an 11-0 victory over McAdoo in the Panther Valley Little League tournament. Snyder pitches a three-hit shutout and helps his own cause by slamming a grand slam in the fourth inning. Steve Snerr singles and scores to give Thorpe an early lead in the first. Run-producing hits by Mike Petrucci and Carl Hunsicker contribute to a five-run frame in the second. JT’s other hit in the contest comes from Eric Schrantz. For McAdoo, John Pieracini collects two of his team’s three hits.
