Pleasant Vy. buys high school, middle school furniture
The Pleasant Valley School Board approved the purchase of additional furniture for the middle school for more than $10,000, and payment of a furniture bill for nearly $20,000 for the high school.
The furniture consists of desks, chairs, cubbie-style cabinets and a table from Premier Environments in Bethlehem at a total cost of $29,540.88.
School board director John Gesiskie asked for clarification on the furniture purchase. He wanted to know if the furniture for the high school was from the previous order, which had been approved, and that now the bill was received.
“We already knew that was coming?” he asked.
The school district’s business manager, Tammy Smale, said it was, and that it is for rooms at the high school that will be finished within the next couple weeks.
“There is additional, a small amount of additional middle school furniture, that Dr. Howard reviewed at the district planning meeting on June 25,” Smale said.
Rae Lin Howard is the assistant superintendent for the school district, but was not present for the school board meeting on July 24.
“The majority of this is for the high school furniture,” Smale said.
