Joanne M. Huber, 529 Center St., Jim Thorpe, is no stranger to the Carbon County Tax Claim Bureau in the Courthouse Annex in Jim Thorpe, considering she has been on the scene for a dozen years.

She was appointed director during Tuesday’s meeting of the Carbon County Board of Commissioners, succeeding Homes F. Gree, 704 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, who submitted his resignation effective July 28.

Her salary was increased to $20,380 a year, the same as was paid Green.

Miss Huber joined the bureau in 1977, and two years later was named assistant director of the agency, then succeeding the late Kathleen Bennyhoff.

Green had served as the department director since 1976.
