Fireworks display a blast for fair opener
The Carbon County Fair is starting off with a bang, thanks to a Franklin Township man.
Joe Pachorkowsky, aka Pyro Joe LLC, said he’s honored to be selected a second time for this year’s firework display at the Carbon County Fair.
Pachorkowsky, who grew up in Lower Towamensing Township not far from the fairgrounds, does fireworks displays around Northeast Pennsylvania. However, this is the most special because it’s his home turf.
“Literally the first rockets I shot were into the fairgrounds property before it existed,” he said.
He aims to make the display even more memorable than last year.
Pachorkowsky, who takes pride in being a veteran-owned business, said he has big plans for this year’s show, bringing in a higher shell count, a rocket barrage and a special “butterfly” effect, which he hopes will wow the crowd.
In addition to his unique display, another one-of-a-kind touch is the Pyro Joe Promo Tent. The tent, run by his wife, Mary, will be set up outside of the grandstand, with giveaways and fun photo ops.
The fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4.
Pyro Joe was selected to shoot off the fireworks display for the Bangor Borough 150th Anniversary Celebration, Franklin Township block party and the Luzerne County Fair, to name a few.
