July 30, 2005 — Tamaqua connects for three homer runs and also rides the pitching of Ryan Palsgrove to a 7-1 victory over West Chester in the Little League 11-12 state tournament, being hosted by Pennridge. Palsgrove allows just four hits and strikes out 11 during his 130-pitch effort, and aids his own cause with a solo homer. The winners, coached by Mark Streisel, also receive longballs from Grif Griffiths and Spencer Bennett. Toby Rosen collects three hits, one a two-run single in the second inning. Palsgrove, Bennett and Griffiths each finish with a pair of hits, while Garth Lakitsky chips in with a double and a run.
