Gates to the Schuylkill County Fair open today at 11 a.m. for Kids Day.
Throughout the entire day, folks will be able to make a lucky horseshoe craft from the horse barn. A Touch-A-Truck event will be at the kids arena from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids contests will be held every half-hour beginning at noon.
Goodtime Amusements will open its midway rides at 1 p.m., and the Schuylkill Ballet Theater will perform at 1 p.m. from the main stage. A tractor parade takes off at 1:30 p.m. from the main gate, and an equine demonstration happens at 3 p.m. from the horse barn.
From 5-8 p.m., a BAAAD Girls sheep-to-shawl demonstration will be held at the indoor midway, and a rabbit hopping contest is at 5 p.m. from the rabbit area. Cowboy/Cowgirl mini-pictures will be taken from 5-7 p.m. from the horse barn, and a pedal tractor pull is at 5:30 p.m.
“Underdogs: Importance of Disliked Critters” will be held at 6 p.m.
Atlantic Pro Pulling LLC will be at the agricultural museum track at 7 p.m. There is an extra fee for this event. An equine demonstration will be held at 7 p.m. from the horse barn.
At 7 and 9 p.m., Zenith will perform classic rock from the 1960s and 1970s from the main stage.
The scheduled events are in addition to displays, food and vendors.
Wednesday is Nana Schaffer Day, and gates will open at 4 p.m. A tractor parade is at 4:30 p.m., and a celebrity tractor pull is at 5:30 p.m.
Invasive plants with Kyle Schutt and a Livestock Skill-A-Thon will be held at 6 p.m. At 7 p.m., there will be farm stock pulls, along with an equine demonstration.
Jack and Davis Reed, grandsons of the Statler Brothers, will perform gospel music at 7 and 9 p.m.
