A Poker Run sponsored Sunday by the Flying Aces Motorcycle Club of Rockport, Weatherly R.2, netted $600 for the Carbon-Tamaqua Unit of the American Cancer Society.

The proceeds will be used for patient services, according to Patricia Haughton, executive director of the unit.

Flying Aces president William Lewis presented her a check, promising that next year’s event will generate an even higher amount of funds.

Chairman of the run was Carl Mengle while Mark Kunkel was the registrar. Helping them to plan the event was Vonnie Felker, chairwoman of the Cancer Crusade now in progress in the Weatherly area and a member of the ACS board of directors.
