July 28, 1997 — Jeremy Burkett pitches a three-hitter and strikes out nine to help lead Franklin Township to an 8-3 victory over McAdoo in a Panther Valley Little League tournament game. Burkett receives plenty of support as Franklin uses a six-run third inning to take a commanding lead. Chris Steigerwalt delivers a two-run double during the frame, while Mike Venarchick adds a two-run single. Ricky Strohl also collects an RBI single in that inning. FT’s final run of the contest comes on a solo homer off the bat of Josh Strawser, his third of the tourney.
