Off The Charts Music School to close Aug. 14
After a solid five-year run, a music school in Palmerton will soon fade to black.
Off The Charts Music School, at 306 Delaware Ave., plans to close Aug. 14, according to a post on the group’s Facebook page.
“After careful thought and assessment, we’ve had to make the unfortunate decision to close the music school,” the post states. “This decision is an extremely tough one for our family, but fortunately, it’s not for the reason of failure.”
The music school, which opened in November 2020, is owned by Dustin Rehrig.
“Our school has had tremendous success over the last five years, including opening our doors for the first time during a national pandemic. Our staff and students, along with our parents, have shown us so much love and support over the years, and we want everyone to know we truly appreciate that.
“You have all been family to us, and our decision is solely based on our other entertainment companies growing at a substantial rate. For those reasons, it has become almost impossible for us to commit the time involved in operating a successful music school.”
In March 2021, the free Internet Colossal Radio broadcasted from its then new home at Off The Charts Music School LLC. It has since moved back to Lehighton.
“We truly loved our time in Palmerton and even hope that someone will buy the school from us and keep the tradition going. However, if that does not happen, our last day of business will be Aug. 14, 2025.”
The post also reminded them to use any stored lessons or gift cards as they will be voided on Aug. 14.
The store plans a closeout sale.
