Woman threatens chief, others
A Nesquehoning woman faces multiple charges after threatening to stab a woman, three children and a police chief on Thursday morning.
Brianna Sanabria, 24, of West Catawissa Street, was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, and multiple counts each of terroristic threats, possession of a weapon, simple assault and harassment.
She was committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility in Nesquehoning in lieu of $100,000 bail.
According to court papers, Nesquehoning police responded to a 911 call about 11 a.m. asking for police at Sanabria’s address. The caller hung up without providing further information.
Police Chief Bradley Hess found a woman and three children, ages 12, 9 and 5, outside on the front porch, and Sanabria was standing in the threshold of the open front door in a highly agitated state.
Hess attempted to move the woman and children off the porch, when Sanabria shut the door and then appeared in the front window holding a steak knife, court papers said.
Sanabria told the chief that she would stab him if he came into the home, arrest papers said.
The woman, who is in a relationship with Sanabria, told police that Sanabria became incensed over misbehavior by the children and it escalated to her threatening to stab everyone, including the children, court papers said.
Police negotiated with Sanabria and persuaded her to put down three steak knives, open the front door and submit to police custody, court papers said.
