Police: Man violated PFA

A Nesquehoning man was jailed for criminal trespass after entering a home where the resident had a protection from abuse order against him.

Michael McFadden, 37, of West Coal Street, was committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility in Nesquehoning in lieu of $25,000 bail following arraignment on the trespass charge by District Judge Beth Dodson.

According to court papers, Nesquehoning police received a copy of a temporary protection from abuse order against McFadden excluding him from a West Coal Street home on July 16.

Two days later, police received a call stating that McFadden was at the address on the order and responded. McFadden told officers that the order had been modified and he was allowed in the home, court papers said.

Officers did not receive a modified order and took him into custody. Officers also confirmed with the county communications center that the order was active.
