The Anthracite Model Railroad Society is holding its Annual Summer Open House today and Sunday, as well as on July 26 and 27.

The trains will be operating from noon-5 p.m.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see HO scale trains operate through the City of Hazleton, boroughs of Weatherly, Harley and Mauch Chunk (Jim Thorpe), past numerous large coal breakers that are now razed, the Jeddo #7 and Drifton breakers to name a few. Observe trains operate past the high stacks at Bethlehem Steel.

The society is located at 1056 Hanover Court, Hazleton Township, between Peace and James and 22nd and 23rd streets.

This weekend, the society will feature numerous locomotives including Thomas and his friends operating at a view that younger children can enjoy.

Admission is free; however, donations are appreciated.
