Panther Valley School Board
The Panther Valley School Board on Wednesday approved a number of personnel moves.
The board hired Michele Peterson as a fourth-grade English language teacher starting the 2025-26 school year at a salary of $47,686, per the union contract.
Also hired was Hailey Helmer as a paraprofessional in the elementary school per the union contract.
The board accepted the resignations of Holly Skrimcovsky, a junior-senior high school teacher, retroactive to the end of school year; Megan Rosahac, an intermediate schoolteacher, effective June 19; and Brian Sook, a school police officer, effective June 20.
Other personnel moves:
• Approved new business manager Greg Gauronsky attending the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials conference on July 21-22 at a cost of $499.96.
• Approved Richard Evanko, Julie Gower, Jacob Taras and Matthew Neifert taking courses or college credits.
• Approved Tyler Marerro as a paraprofessional for the 2025 Extended School Year Program.
• Approved Cheryl Romanchik, Lisa Ogozalek, Hannah Mordaunt and Paul DiGennaro as mentors for new teachers per the union contract.
• Approved an agreement with Ashley Kovatch for speech therapy services retroactive to July 1.
• Reassigned Susan Esposito from part-time general worker/dishwasher to part-time general worker/server at the current contract rate.
• Moved Julie Gower, an intermediate schoolteacher, to the master’s degree column of the union pay scale beginning the start of the new year; and teacher Julian Costa from junior-senior special education to family consumer science.
