BLUE MOUNTAIN LEAGUE

Limeport-Berlinsville

Palmerton graduate Luke Netznik pitched a one-hit shutout on Thursday to lead the Berlinsville Braves to a 1-0 victory over the Limeport Dodgers.

Netznik, who pitched for Albright College in the spring, didn’t walk anyone and finished with four strikeouts.

The former Blue Bomber didn’t allow a hit until the sixth inning and worked out of a first and second, no-out situation to keep the shutout intact.

After the Braves pushed across a run in the home sixth on Ryan Sekulski’s double and Ben Gagon’s RBI single, Netznik delivered a 1-2-3 frame in the seventh to secure the win.

Palmerton alum Cole Serfass reached base three times for the winners (hit, walk, hit by pitch) and stole a base.

Netznik’s shutout — his first victory of the season — was the sixth one by a pitcher in the BML this season.
