State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported the following incidents:

• Police responded at 8:05 p.m. July 10 to an alleged domestic-related assault on Lake Road, Hamilton Township.

A 34-year-old woman from East Stroudsburg told police that a suspect spit on her and attempted to hit her with his hand. They said the suspect admitted that he and the woman were involved in a verbal argument but claimed the altercation never became physical.

Police said the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office declined prosecution.

• A 53-year-old man from Monterey, California, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 12:31 a.m. July 4 on Route 33 in Hamilton Township.

Police said he was driving a 2023 Nissan Frontier when he was stopped for Motor Vehicle Code violations, after which police determined that he was under the influence of alcohol and incapable of driving safely.
