Turnpike crashes

State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Damage was minor in a crash at 11:30 a.m. July 4 at mile marker 70 inside the Lehigh Tunnel in Washington Township.

Police said the crash occurred as Alejandro Ruiz-Santis, 73, of Reading, was driving a 2016 Honda Odyssey northbound when it merged into the right lane and hit the driver’s side mirror of a 2025 Hyundai Sonata driven by Julia A. Smith, 59, of Wyomissing.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Ruiz-Santis was cited after the crash, according to police.

• Carlos Marrero-Cintron, 71, of Avoca, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 4:25 p.m. June 30 at mile marker 80.9 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said he was driving a 2013 Ford Flex northbound when he lost control of it and it struck the concrete barrier on the left side of the road.

The Flex was towed from the scene.

• Shawn K. Stahl, 41, of Watsontown, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 2:30 p.m. June 25 on the northbound Exit 95 off ramp in Kidder Township.

Police said he was driving a 2010 Ford F-100 northbound when he lost control of it while negotiating a left turn. The vehicle traveled off the shoulder and onto an embankment, where it struck a guide rail and became disabled. It was towed from the scene.
