Robert F. Ertwine of Ringtown was elected commander of the American Legion 13th District at a caucus meeting of the State Legion Convention held Wednesday in Cressona.

The newly-elected commander was educated in the Ringtown school system and is a veteran of World War II.

Ertwine’s nominating speech was made by his father, Maxwell B. Ertwine, a past commander and adjutant of Ringtown Post 289 for 25 years.

Michael Pavlick of Coaldale was elected at the meeting as a delegate to attend the national convention in Denver, Colorado.
