Local roundup: Results from July 12-13
Tamaqua and Jim Thorpe gained wins in the Panther Valley Little League tournaments over the weekend.
A number of area Lehigh Valley Junior Connie Mack players also participated in the league’s all-star game.

Franklin Township
Tamaqua plated runs in every inning to cruise to a 16-5 win over Franklin Township on Saturday.
George Pinkey paced six Tamaqua players with multiple hits. Batting from the No. 9 spot, Pinkey recorded a single, a double, a walk, three runs scored and two RBIs.
Owen Hope added two singles, a walk, two runs scored and three RBIs.
Chase Eltringham (two singles, two runs), Lucas Letkowski (two singles, one run, two RBIs), Gavin Wagner (two singles, one run, one RBI), and Luke Tuckett (single, double, two runs) all contributed to Tamaqua’s win.
Maverick Kegerise (single, double, two runs, one RBI) and Jaxton Oswald (two singles, one run, one RBI) were the lone multiple hitters for Franklin.

Anthracite-JT 12s
The Jim Thorpe 12s downed Anthracite 17-6 win on Sunday.
Five different players recorded extra-base hits for Jim Thorpe 12: Carter Reis, Jagger M., Jaxon O’Shura, Jionni Puddu, and Vincent Montefour.
O’Shura led the way with a single, a double and three RBIs. Reis added a single, double, a walk and three runs scored.
Gabe D. had two singles, a run and an RBI for Anthracite. Teammate Austin S. chipped in with a double.

LV JR CONNIE MACK ALL-STAR GAME
LV A-LV B
Seven pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout as Lehigh Valley B blanked Lehigh Valley A, 10-0, in the Lehigh Valley Junior Connie Mack All-Star Game Saturday.
Coplay’ Chase Hallman started for LV B and earned the win, allowing a hit with one strikeout and a walk. Maison Mourani, also of Coplay, struck out the side in his inning of work.
Jackson Onidra of Lehigh-Bethlehem led the winners with two singles and two runs scored. Teammate Graham Oswald connected for a double, drove in a run and scored twice.
Franklin Township’s Jake Albert added a single, a run scored and an RBI. Palmerton’s Colton Labukas chipped in with a hit and an RBI, while Jim Thorpe’s Kade Levan collected a hit. Northern Valley’s Nathan Kinney pitched a perfect inning of relief with a strikeout, and Thorpe’s Dominic Calcano tossed a scoreless frame with a strikeout.
Hunter Vasquez of Palmerton and Korbin Ahner of FT both walked and scored a run. NV’s Gabriel Markovitch also worked a free pass.
Treyton Ryan (South Parkland), Will Burrell (Lehigh Township), Matt Buskirk (Lehigh Township) and Chris Mullin (Nazareth) accounted for the hits for LV A.
