State police at Bethlehem - crashes
State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following crashes:
• David A. Steckert, 25, of Easton, was injured in a four-vehicle crash at 7:51 p.m. June 24 on U.S. Route 22 in Hanover Township.
Police said he refused a medical transport from the scene.
They said the crash occurred as he was operating a 2024 Suzuki motorcycle and attempted to slow down due to traffic when he was thrown from the cycle, then struck by a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Makaila L. Scarcelle, 22, of Allentown.
Police said the Outlander continued and struck the back of a 2013 BMW driven by Wattanai Manasurangkul, 32, of Whitehall, which then struck the back of a 2020 Nissan Sentra operated by a 16-year-old girl from Kunkletown.
Steckert was cited for following too closely, according to police.
They said the motorcycle had minor damage, while the Outlander and Sentra had moderate damage. The BMW was towed from the scene.
• A man and three 3-year-old girls from Slatington were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 8:26 p.m. June 23 on Old Post Road in Washington Township.
Jose Arias Dominguez, 30, and the girls were all transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township, by Northern Valley Ambulance.
Police said the severity of their injuries are unknown.
They said the crash occurred when Arias Dominguez was driving a 2005 Acura southbound when the vehicle experienced a failure, causing it to travel across the northbound lane and hit a tree. The vehicle had disabling damage.
Police said Arias Dominguez was cited after the crash.
• Cade C. Hankee, 20, of Emerald, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 4:57 p.m. June 25 on West Main Boulevard in East Allen Township. He was uninjured in the incident.
Police said he was driving a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe eastbound when he fell asleep and the vehicle drifted into the oncoming lane, traveled off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole.
The Santa Fe was towed from the scene.
