Local Roundup: Results from July 7
The Jim Thorpe 12s and Towamensing both posted wins Monday in the openers of the Panther Valley Little League 11-12 Tournament.
Jim Thorpe defeated their 11 counterparts, while Towamensing gained a walk-off victory over Anthracite.

Jaxon O’Shura and Jionni Puddu both collected four hits as the Jim Thorpe 12s rolled to a 26-4 victory over the Jim Thorpe 11s in the opening round of the Panther Valley Little League 11-12 Tournament on Monday.
O’Shura had two singles and two doubles, while scoring three runs and driving home four. Puddu, meanwhile, ended with a pair of singles and doubles, scored four times and had three RBIs.
The winners, who received at least one hit from everyone in the lineup, also got big offensive efforts from Mason Pruitte (three hits, three runs, two RBIs), Daniel Off (three hits, four runs, RBI) and Vincent Montefour.

Towamensing
Bentley Stevens delivered an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning Monday to give Towamensing an 8-7 walk-off win over Anthracite.
Stevens finished with a pair of hits and two RBIs, while Dillon Welsh and Cole Singleton both contributed a pair of hits and knocked in two runs.
The winners also received two hits from Nick Peters. Mason Burger added a hit, two runs and two RBIs.
