Bearded Villains win Golden Grabber award for trail cleanup
The Pennsylvania East Chapter of the Bearded Villains, led by Captain Dennis Gustitus, continues to make a big impact across their community.
With 12 dedicated members, this crew blends brotherhood, service, and heart in everything they do.
Recently, the chapter was honored at the D&L Trailfest where they proudly received the Golden Grabber Award from Alice Wanamaker.
The award recognized their cleanup efforts along the Lehighton Trailhead, where members came together to remove trash and debris and help restore the trail for everyone to enjoy. The trail clean up was organized by Lehighton local member Jeremy Smith.
Known for their bold flag and unmistakable presence, BVPA has a strong track record when it comes to giving back. In past years, the chapter raised close to $20,000 through fundraising and hands-on efforts for BattleBorne, a nonprofit that supports veterans and mental health.
They’ve also helped bring sensory rooms to local schools for autistic students and have donated supplies to the Carbon County Animal Shelter.
The trail cleanup was just the latest example of their commitment to the community. Volunteers hauled bag after bag of trash off the trail, making a real difference and setting the tone for future cleanups.
