July 7, 2014 — The Panther Valley Black Diamonds hang on to post a 3-2 Keystone Senior Babe Ruth playoff win over Forks Township. The game ends in strange fashion as, with two outs and the bases empty, James Wargo of Forks drills a ball to the left-center gap. PV’s Frank Nietz dives for the ball but can’t come up with it. His throw to second is mishandled and Wargo takes off for third, but first baseman Luke Stawick gets to the loose ball and fires it across the diamond to nail the runner on a bang-bang play to finish the contest. Luke Stano earns the win for the Black Diamonds, coached by Rich Evanko, pitching five shutout innings in relief and striking out four.
