Washington Twp. setting speed limit

The Washington Township supervisors will advertise an ordinance setting the speed limit on High Hill Road from Old Post Road to Walnut Street to 35 mph as a result of a speed study.

At this time there is no speed limit sign posted for that area.

Township Manager Wade Marlatt reported that there could be an upcoming project with a grant on a portion of Ashfield Road which is a low dirt gravel road.

The Conservation District and Penn State would be a part of the potential project, which is in the preliminary stages.

Joe Mead, emergency manager said, “We are working on the final things needed for the County Hazmat Mitigation Plan for Washington Township for Lehigh County.”

Resident Ellen Bigley mentioned the grass needs to be cut by West Grant Street and Main Street.

And resident Marilyn Snyder said the bushes are too high by County Bridge Road and West Grant Street.
