STATE POLICE TURNPIKE REPORT
State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:
• Kenneth J. Ortbach, 59, of Hellertown, escaped injuries in a motorcycle crash at 3:11 p.m. June 4 at mile marker 75.3 in Parryville Borough.
Police said he was operating a 2006 Harley-Davidson southbound when he lost control and the motorcycle went on its side.
Police said the motorcycle had disabling damage and was removed from the scene.
• Michael B. Stanley, 34, of Wilmington, Delaware, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 8:54 p.m. June 8 at mile marker 81.7 in Penn Forest Township.
Police said he was driving a 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer southbound when he lost control of it, swerved to the right and struck the guide rail.
The car had disabling damage.
• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 1:12 p.m. June 16 at mile marker 81.9 in Penn Forest Township.
Police said the crash occurred when Daniel M. Pritzker, 37, of Lakewood, New Jersey, was driving a 2022 Tesla southbound too fast for the rainy and wet roadway conditions.
The vehicle went out of control, struck the guide rail off the west shoulder, spun 180 degrees and hit a 2020 International Harvester driven by Robert J. Welch, 59, of Saint Helen, Michigan, police said.
Pritzker was cited after the crash, according to police.
The Tesla was towed from the scene.
• No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 3:41 p.m. June 25 at mile marker 76.6 in Franklin Township.
Police said the crash occurred as Aaron B. Kessler, 38, of Muncy, was driving a 2000 Volkswagen Beetle southbound when it struck the center concrete barrier, crossed both travel lanes, hit an embankment and overturned.
Kessler was cited after the crash, according to police.
Incidents
State police at the Pocono barracks also reported the following incidents that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:
• A 32-year-old man from Detroit, Michigan, was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia after police made a traffic stop at 6:39 p.m. June 28.
He was stopped in a 2024 Chevrolet Malibu at mile marker 93.4 in Kidder Township after having been clocked traveling 103 mph in a 70 mph zone.
• Police said a 2011 Mazda 6 they stopped at 3:43 p.m. June 29 at mile marker 68.8 in Washington Township had a fictitious inspection sticker on it. They did not identify the driver or list an address.
They said the victim is Ken Pollock Nissan, Wilkes-Barre.
• Nazar Chaikivskyi, 19, of Southampton, was charged with theft of services after police made a traffic stop at 6:29 p.m. June 29 at mile marker 68.9 in Washington Township.
Police said he was clocked at 103 mph in a 70 mph zone in a 2016 Mercedes-Benz that later was determined to have a fictitious Florida license plate.
