Gas prices are 3 cents lower in Pennsylvania this week at $3.365 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.
Gas prices have fallen 4.6 cents over the past week to $3.178 as the price of crude oil has stabilized. Crude prices temporarily spiked last week after U.S. airstrikes against Iran but those increases quickly dissipated, and as of this morning, oil prices are back to what they were pre-conflict. With the Independence Day holiday approaching and 61.6 million holiday travelers are preparing to hit the road, gas prices are 31.3 cents cheaper than this time last year.
According to new data from the Energy Information Administration, gasoline demand increased from 9.29 million barrels per day last week to 9.68. Total domestic gasoline supply decreased from 230 million barrels to 227.9. Gasoline production remained flat last week, averaging 10.1 million barrels per day.
The nation’s top 10 most expensive gasoline markets are California ($4.58), Hawaii ($4.47), Washington ($4.42), Oregon ($4.04), Nevada ($3.79), Alaska ($3.72), Illinois ($3.46), Idaho ($3.43), Pennsylvania ($3.37), and District of Columbia ($3.34).
