Carbon County’s Industrial Development Authority gave support yesterday to Atomized Metal Powders, Inc., a firm that plans to locate in Lower Towamensing Township which has applied for an $850,000 loan from the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority.
Atomized Metals will be locating its powdered aluminum industry in the township. This involves three major buildings, for office, warehouse and furnace operations.
The plant will be located on a 68-acre tract of land located along the Aquashicola-Little Gap Road and is expected to employ 25 persons during its first year of operation and possible 40 persons in the second year.
The land was formerly owned by the New Jersey Zinc Company, Palmerton.
