Lehighton Band to present patriotic concert
The Lehighton Band, under the direction of Bradly R. Cressley, invites the public to a stirring and heartfelt patriotic concert at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Lehighton Park Amphitheater.
Free and open to the public, the family-friendly event is a cherished tradition, celebrating Independence Day with powerful music and community pride.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and their patriotic spirits.
A freewill offering will be accepted to support the Lehighton Band, a proud nonprofit community ensemble that was founded in 1864.
The concert will begin with a fanfare arrangement of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” followed by “The Liberty Bell March” by John Philip Sousa, setting the tone for an evening full of stirring tributes and musical celebration.
Other program highlights will include:
• “American Flourish” — Robert W. Smith
• “Battle Hymn of the Republic” — arr. James Neilson
• “God Bless America” — arr. Johnnie Vinson
• “Armed Forces Salute” — arr. Robert Lowden. A moving medley honoring both active duty service members and veterans of all branches of the U.S. armed forces — from the Army to the Space Force. Audience members who have served or are currently serving will be invited to stand and be recognized during their branch’s theme.

• “By Dawn’s Early Light” — David Shaffer
• “The Fourth of July” — John Cacavas
• “America the Beautiful” — arr. Bill Moffitt
• “Star Spangled Spectacular” — arr. John Cacavas
• “God Bless the USA” — arr. Johnnie Vinson
• “Stars and Stripes Forever” — John Philip Sousa. The official National March of the United States, it playing will bring the concert to a grand and patriotic close.
A presentation of flags by the Panther Valley High School ROTC program will be included as a powerful visual tribute.
The first 50 attendees will receive a small American flag as a free keepsake, so arrive early.
In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors to the Lehighton Boys and Girls Band Hall, located at Sixth and Cypress streets in Lehighton.
