Carbon TrailFest offers food, music

Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor is celebrating the D&L Trail and the vibrant communities it connects at the Carbon County D&L TrailFest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Lehighton Outdoor Center, 123 Lehigh Drive, Lehighton.

The free, family-friendly event highlights the D&L Trail and Carbon County’s rich outdoor culture with food, music, vendors and activities for all ages.

State Rep. Doyle Heffley will give remarks.

Food and drink: Enjoy local flavors from Bright Path Brewing, Old Farmer Tea Company, Silverback Distillery, The Italian Guys, The Rolling Brew and Woods Ice Cream

Vendors and crafters: Shop local and explore handmade goods and unique finds from 1730 Soap, 3dkbprinting, Brenda’s Handmade Plushies, Carol’s Creations, Crafts by Beth, Crafty Mama Designs 4, Duckville Soap Co., Ev Unit K-9 Team LLC, Photography by Desha, Saint Rocco’s Treats, ScheißeKatze, The Royal Mushroom Society and Trailmade Trading Company.

Nonprofits and organizations: Connect with local history, conservation and community groups, including America250 Carbon County; Blue Mountain Resort; Carbon Chamber & Economic Development Corporation; Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor; Delaware River Shad Fisherman Association; Eckley Miner’s Village; Kittatinny Ridge Conservation Landscape; Lehighton Downtown Initiative; Lehighton Outdoor Center; Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway; Lehigh Gorge State Park; Lehigh River Stocking Association; Pocono Fly Fishing; and Railroad Historians of the Lehigh Valley/Lehigh Valley Chapter, National Railway Historical Society.

Live music and entertainment: Dave Matsinko — traditional folk and American heritage music; e-bike demonstration by the Lehighton Outdoor Center, free bike and helmet rentals during the festival; guided group walks and bicycle rides led by Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor; Monroe Berger, DJ and emcee for the Lehighton Outdoor Center, and tennis demonstration by Valley Royale.

The Carbon County D&L TrailFest is a celebration of community, conservation and connection. Whether you’re a trail enthusiast, a local history buff or just looking for a fun day out, TrailFest offers something for everyone.
