Tamaqua police log
Tamaqua police reported on the following incidents:
• Police cited Elvis Solorzano, 65, of Tamaqua, with public drunkenness following a 10:51 a.m. June 3 incident.
According to police, a caller reported that an extremely drunk man was in the Boyer’s parking lot and had made his way into the store.
When police arrived, two others alerted officers that the man was inside. Police saw Solorzano swaying and leaning on an ATM.
Police assisted him outside the store, and while driving him home, Solorzano said he did not know his address. Police were able to locate it and told him not to leave until he was sober.
• Police charged Barry Ohl, 32, whose last-known address is Tamaqua, with evading arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct following a 5:49 p.m. May 6 incident on the unit block of North Railroad Street.
Police said they were called by the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office to assist with a foot pursuit involving Ohl.
When apprehended, Ohl had drug paraphernalia and a small amount of an unidentified white substance, according to police.
Ohl was taken to the Carbon County Correctional Facility.
• Eric Jeffries, 35, of Weatherly, was charged with harassment after he called and texted a woman with whom he was to have no contact, police said.
The woman told police that she filed a report with Tamaqua police in December, asking that Jeffries have no contact with her. Jeffries agreed and said he understood.
Police said Jeffries called and texted the woman on May 29, and also had packages sent to her home.
