Historical society open house

More than 80 people visited the Lansford Historical Society Sunday for its annual spring open house, which featured local radio personality Polka Joe Manjack and his Magic Polka Machine live from the museum. Manjack has kept polka music alive in the Panther Valley for 51 years.

Visitors were able to tour the museum and enjoy music from area polka bands.

This year, the museum featured a series of photographs from the turn of the century depicting the many neighborhoods and views of the original home configuration built by the Lehigh Coal and Navigation Co. CONTRIBUTED PHOTOS
