Pennsylvania State Police said a woman is in custody after a man reported being shot in the face Tuesday morning in a road rage incident on Interstate 380 North in Monroe County.

Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police Stroudsburg Station were dispatched to Interstate 380 North near mile marker 8.5 aft 11:27 p.m.

The suspect fled the scene and was not able to be located upon the initialtTroopers response. Through various investigative means, the suspect was developed and taken into custody without incident.

The Monroe County District Attorney’s Office approved charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, terrorist threats, propel missile into occupied dwelling, recklessly endangering another person and reckless driving.

The suspect, a 38-year-old woman, was taken to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, where she will be arraigned in the morning. An updated news release will be distributed following the arraignment.

This incident is being investigated by the Troop N, Major Case Team, in conjunction with the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.
