The Coaldale Borough Council voted 3-1 to designate Lehighton ALS to be the town ‘s provider, acting on the recommendation of the Coaldale Ambulance Corps.
Council president Joseph Hnat and members Sue Solt and John Terray voted to accept the recommendation. Ann Girard voted no and Steve Tentylo abstained from the voting.
The Coaldale corps members, in a letter to council, said its corps will not be responsible for complaints that may be received if council designated the Hazleton Area ALS as the town’s provider.
The Hazleton organization has a unit stationed in Tamaqua.
