A 36-year-old Hellertown man is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon following an incident at 8:08 p.m. May 10 on Interstate 78 in Lower Saucon Township, state police at the Belfast barracks said.

Police said a 22-year-old Saylorsburg woman reported the incident started as a road rage incident and escalated to a point where the man, driving a Dodge, began “brake-checking” her and then pointed a gun at her.

He went past her 2011 Mazda3, at which time the driver was identified, police said.
