State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 39-year-old Kunkletown man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and resisting arrest at 9:11 p.m. on May 26.
It occurred on Interchange Road in Polk Township when he was driving a BMW, police said.
• Jed McFarland, 47, of Palmerton, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.
He was stopped at 2:17 a.m. on May 9 while driving a 2013 Dodge Journey in the 400 block of Sand Quarry Road in Lower Towamensing Township, police said.
• Kari McCoy, 36, of Palmerton, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
Police said she was stopped in a 2004 Suzulight at 9:42 p.m. on May 23 on Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East in Lehighton Borough.
• Police said a Social Security card that was found was turned over to them at 11:50 a.m. on May 27.
It was found in the area of East Lizard Creek and Dinkey roads in East Penn Township. The card was eventually turned over to its owner.
• A 59-year-old New Tripoli man was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 11:23 a.m. on May 24.
He was stopped for multiple Motor Vehicle Code violations on Lehigh Drive in Lehigh Township after which he displayed several signs of impairment, police said.
• Robert Christman, 22, of Lehighton, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 2:27 a.m. on May 25.
He was stopped in a 2014 Chevrolet for Title 75 violations in the 3100 block of Forest Inn Road, Lower Towamensing Township.
• A 59-year-old Shenandoah man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after police made a traffic stop at 12:55 p.m. on May 25.
He was stopped in a 2004 Dodge Stratus for Title 75 violations on Lehigh Drive in Lehigh Township.
• Barry Tindula, 43, of Palmerton, was committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning, on burglary charges after police responded to an incident at 3 p.m. on May 20 on Cornell Avenue, Lower Towamensing Township.
Police said the suspect entered an unoccupied structure and took various items valued at an around $425.
• Police said a Saylorsburg resident had $75,000 stolen from him/her in a theft by deception/ATM card incident they were called to at 3530 Buckwall Drive, Wall Township.
The investigation of the theft that occurred between May 29 to 30 is continuing.
• A 33-year-old Pottsville man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 10:35 p.m. on May 29.
He was stopped in for Title 75 violations at the intersection of Homestead Lane and Interchange Road in Towamensing Township, after which time he displayed signs of impairment.
Police said he refused chemical testing, was processed and released.
• A 52-year-old Palmerton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 2:21 a.m. on May 30.
He was stopped in a 2010 Kia Forte for multiple Title 75 offenses on Main Street in Slatington.
• A 21-year-old Slatington woman is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 2:27 a.m. on June 1.
She was stopped in a 2015 Jeep Patriot for Title 75 violations on Interchange Road in Towamensing Township.
• A 55-year-old Lehighton woman was cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to a domestic incident at 11:28 p.m. on May 31 on Germans Road, East Penn Township.
A 56-year-old Lehighton man said the woman slapped him in the face when the domestic-type incident turned physical.
• Police were called to a counterfeiting report at 5:17 p.m. on May 20 at the Country Junction General Store, Interchange Road, Towamensing Township.
They said a counterfeit $100 bill was used to purchase a soft pretzel and milkshake.
• A 42-year-old Port Carbon man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 4:14 p.m. on May 23.
He was stopped in a 2010 Ford Explorer for Motor Vehicle Code violations on Railroad Alley in Palmerton.
• Police responded to an incident of harassment resulting in an arrest. They did not state where it happened, or who was arrested, but said the incident involved a fight over cellphones in which the victim is a female.
• A 20-year-old Effort man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol following an incident at 11:58 p.m. on June 2.
Police said he was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze on Route 33 in Hamilton Township when he stopped in front of another vehicle police had already stopped.
