Kutztown intern joins Tamaqua Chamber

The Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce has welcomed Maura Walker as its newest intern for the summer season.

Walker, a 2022 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, earned an associate degree in business administration from Lehigh Carbon Community College in 2024.

She is entering her senior year at Kutztown University, where she is majoring in marketing and minoring in social media theory and strategy.

“In completing this internship, I hope to gain hands-on experience in content creation and enhance my ability to effectively connect with audiences,” Walker said. “Additionally, I look forward to building relationships and engaging with the Tamaqua community.”

According to Aimee Dotson, executive director of the Chamber, Walker is already making an impact.

“Maura has already demonstrated exceptional initiative and dedication at the Chamber. As we launch our new Blue Cup Special Program, she has taken the lead with remarkable skill, effectively engaging the community and raising awareness about the initiative,” Dotson said. “Throughout the summer, you’ll see her actively promoting the Chamber, supporting our members and championing the Blue Cups.

“I am truly delighted to have Maura on our team and confident that she will be a valuable asset to our organization.”

The Chamber is proud to support local students in their professional development and is looking forward to all Walker will accomplish during her time with the organization.
