Church fundraiser

A Dine to Donate fundraiser for Salem-St. Paul Lutheran Church, Kresgeville, will take place from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Red Robin in Bartonsville.

Those ordering from the restaurant should mention the church’s name or bring a flyer. The church will then receive 20% of the food sales for that time period.

Flea market Saturday

Middlecreek Christian Church, Dorshimer Road, Kresgeville, is holding an outdoor flea market, rain or shine, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.

Pierogi sale

The Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network is holding a frozen pierogi sale through June 15 via Bayou Boy’s in the Lehigh Valley.

The flavors are potato and cheese, buffalo chicken, jalapeño popper, bacon and cheese, dill pickle, roasted garlic and apple pie.

Items will be available for pickup at the PVEN’s office, 2334 Route 209, Sciota, from noon-3 p.m. July 2; noon-3 p.m. July 3; and 8 a.m.-noon July 4.

Proceeds will support six PVEN programs.

Saturday walk

The West End Regional Park is the site Saturday’s Nature Walk for Salem-St. Paul Lutheran Church. People are asked to meet at the park at 10 a.m. The rain date is June 14.

Honoring graduates

Salem-St. Paul will honor its graduates Sunday at the 9:30 worship service. Holy Communion will also be celebrated.

At 10:15 a.m., there will be a reception for the graduates.

Legion Riders

The American Legion Riders, Post 927, Gilbert, will meet at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Guests are welcome.

Grief Share

Mount Eaton Church in Saylorsburg hosts a Grief Share support group gathering every Sunday from 2-4 p.m. For more information, call the church at 570-992-7050.

Assistant pastor set

St. Matthew’s ECC in Kunkletown has been informed by Bishop Randy Sizemore that Pastor Wil Hoffman is being stationed at St. Matthew’s. Pastor Wil enters the ministry in a part-time assistant pastor role and will be working closely with current interim Pastor Rick Rufenacht until he is ready to become the full-time lead pastor.

Hoffman, a Lehighton homeowner, retired from the Air Force in 2008.

His wife Tammy, oversees the St. Peter’s Resource Center in Lehighton which Wil founded.

St. Matthew’s will host a meet and greet supper for the couple at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Attendees should bring a dessert.

Bingo Monday

It’s Bingo Night every Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the West End Memorial Legion Post 927, and the public is invited. Card sales begin at 7:30 p.m. First game call is at 7 p.m.

Food and beverages are available.

Habitat’s 35th

Monroe County Habitat for Humanity’s 35th Anniversary will be celebrated at the Blueprints & Breakfast: Creating Homes for a Better Future breakfast, from 8-9 a.m. at the Camelback Resort on June 11.

Tickets can be purchased at the door and include a buffet breakfast sponsored by Camelback.

VBS moved

The site for Vacation Bible School at Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kresgeville has been moved to Pleasant Valley Estates pavilion and pool near Jonas. It will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesdays, July 8, 15 and 29. A flyer is available at the church.

Donations for the rental of the pool and pavilion will be accepted. To donate, see Deb Obeid or Pastor Deborah Scheffey.

Open house set

An open house for Jackson Township will be held at the Volunteer Fire Company site in Reeders, on Route 715, from 5-7 p.m. Thursday. The event is to review improvements in the area and tips on how to save money on your electric bills.

OTOH meeting

The next monthly meeting of Operation: Touch of Home will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert.

Produce for seniors

To help older adults eat more fresh produce, state Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers are being offered at several sites in the county.

There are age and household income guidelines.

Chestnuthill Senior Center folks on Route 209 in Brodheadsville (at Zion Lutheran Church) can pick up vouchers from 9 a.m.-noon June 12. On June 18, at Hamilton Manor, building residents can pick up vouchers. And at the Eldred Township Community Center on Kunkletown Road, folks can pick up vouchers from 9 a.m.-noon June 26.

‘Bells Across PA’

America250PA is accepting design submissions from Pennsylvania artists for the “Bells Across PA” art series to commemorate the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026.

The goal is to place at least one bell in all of the state’s counties by Dec. 31. They will then stay in place until Dec. 3, 2026.

Dual event

McMichaels UMC is hosting a donation-only breakfast from 8-10 a.m. June 14. A soup sale will follow, from 11-2 p.m., that will feature soups like chicken rice, beef stew, chicken potpie, etc.

Strawberry fest

St. Matthew’s ECC is holding its strawberry festival and annual car show on June 15. Registration is from 8 a.m.-noon. Breakfast will be from 8 a.m.-10 a.m.

There will be a worship service at 10 a.m. and trophies will be awarded at 3 p.m.

The later menu, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. includes barbecue, hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, assorted beverages, strawberries, ice cream and shortcake.

The Brian Dean Moore Band will entertain from 1-4 p.m.

In addition, Top 25 trophies by Participants Choice will be awarded; 100 dash plaques; a 50/50 raffle will be held and there will be activities “for the kids” starting at 1 p.m.

A portion of the car show proceeds will be donated to Monroe County and Carbon County Meals on Wheels.

St. Peter’s special

The Penn View Singers will be part of the Sunday, June 15, worship service at 9 a.m. at St. Peter’s UMC in Saylorsburg.

The vocalists come from the Penn View Bible Institute.
