Electronics recycling
Weatherly Borough will host an electronic recycling event at Eurana Park Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. or until the truck is full.
This is a no-contact event and people are asked to remain in their vehicles. Cash or checks will only be accepted, and checks should be made payable to Responsible Recycling Services, or RRS.
The following items are recycled for free: desktop/laptop computers, gaming systems, printers and fax machines, cables and cords, cellphone and laptop batteries, exercise equipment, toner and ink cartridges, audio visual equipment, telephones and cellphones with batteries removed, DVD players and VCRs, keyboards and mice, filing cabinets, string Christmas lights, microwaves and small appliances, metal items and water heaters, UPS battery backups, car batteries, metal bed frames and rain spouting.
Additional items can be recycled for a fee, as follows: washers, dryers, dishwashers, computer monitors, ranges/stoves, floor carpets, stove, $20 each; dehumidifiers, air conditioners and dorm refrigerators, $25, each; floor freezers, console stereos, refrigerators, $35 each; televisions under 42 inch CRT or flat screen, $40, each; all other televisions including in wooden cabinet, projection, larger screens and television tubes, $60.
Destruction services are available for a fee as follows: hard drives, $10 a drive; and documents, $10 per standard paper box. Both come with a certificate of destruction.
Food distribution
The Shepherd House Food Distribution will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Zions Evangelical Lutheran Church, Third and Fell streets, Weatherly.

Plant swap
The Weatherly Area Museum’s Plant Swap will be held June 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The suggested donation is $5 to attend.
People will be able to bring their own pest-free plants and cuttings to share.
Phil Erich, Carbon County master gardener, will speak at 11:30 a.m. about indoor plant care tips, and Deborah Molnar, a local pottery artist, will have her handcrafted planters available for sale.
Food and beverages will be available from For His Kingdom Coffee and Buzzy Bee Cafe.
Pizza sale
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 360 in Weatherly will hold its monthly unbaked pizza sale on June 20.
Pick up is from 4 to 6 p.m. at the post home. The deadline to order pizza is June 13.
