Attorney Cindy Ray of Weatherly was re-elected to her third term as chairman of the Carbon County Republican Party at a meeting held in the Broad Mountain Inn, Nesquehoning.

She outpolled Robert Zovak of Jim Thorpe in secret balloting by a margin of 52-38.

Other officers who were unanimously elected are Gilbert Gerhard of Packer Township, vice chairman; Rosemary Kintz of Summit Hill, treasurer; and Irene Hoppes of Jim Thorpe, secretary.

Area chairpersons elected include Bob Potestio, Weatherly; Dorothy Kuntz, Lehighton; John Faust, Palmerton; Kintz, Panther Valley; and Marie Fredericks, Penn Forest Township.
