June 3, 2010 — Lehighton rallies for five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to erase a deficit and gain a 7-5 victory over Saucon Valley in the District 11 Class 3A championship game played at Coca-Cola Park, home of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. Kyle Hunter knocks in the first run of the fifth with an RBI single, while Jacen Nalesnik follows with a run-scoring double off the wall in right-center. A fielder’s choice grounder off the bat of Dave Behler ties the score, and bases-loaded walks to Nic Storm and Matt Schaeffer give the Indians — coached by Brian Polaha — a lead. Nalesnik ends with two doubles and two runs. Hunter relieves on the mound and pitches two scoreless innings to preserve the win and the program’s first-ever district title.
