State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:

• Joseph Binder Jr., 63, of Jim Thorpe, was involved in a two-vehicle crash at 3:09 p.m. on April 8 on Interchange Road in Towamensing Township. Police said he did not require a medical transport from the scene.

They said the crash occurred as Anthony Bulawa, 18, of Kunkletown, driving a 2018 Honda, was northbound when the car entered the southbound lane and hit a 2015 Toyota Tacoma driven by Binder. Bulawa was cited after the crash, police said.

• Todd M. Vogel, 30, of Easton, was injured in a motorcycle crash at 1:35 p.m. May 18 on Lower Smith Gap Road in Eldred Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg.

They said he was southbound when a deer entered the roadway. They said Vogel fell off the motorcycle to avoid a collision with the deer.

Vogel was cited for operating an unregistered vehicle, police said.

• The driver of a vehicle that crashed on Mahoning Drive in Mahoning Township at 6:12 p.m. on May 26 was uninjured.

Police did not identify the driver of the 2017 Subaru Impreza, or the residence of the driver.

They said the car was eastbound near the intersection with Mahoning Heights Road when the driver was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting a vehicle that had stopped on the south side of the highway.

The Impreza struck a utility pole and had minor damage, police said.
