The Tamaqua Area School Board last week recognized several students who attend the Schuylkill Technology Center for their achievements in regional and state competitions.
Five students competed in the 57th Annual SkillsUSA Pennsylvania Leadership and Skill Conference in April, and another competed in Schuylkill Ignite, presenting a business plan for his marketing company.
Those students include Ava Vengen, who placed first in the Esthetics Model competition and advances to the National SkillsUSA competition in Atlanta; Riley Kabana and Madison Schock, who took second in Career Pathways (Human); and Mason McMillan, who competed in Motorcycle Science and Logan Leatherman, Electronics Technology.
Carson Farber also competed in the Schuylkill Ignite, presenting his company, “Market Yourself” to a panel of seven entrepreneurs from Schuylkill County, High School Principal Thomas McCabe told the board.
McCabe asked the students to stand during the board’s committee meetings and they were recognized for their accomplishments as well as their dedication and commitment they put into the presentations while representing the district.
