Update: Lansford man killed in Kline Twp. crash

A Lansford man died in a head-on collision Saturday at about 4 p.m. on Route 309 (the Mile Hill) in Kline Township.

State police at the Frackville barracks said Thairen Finley, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene by a Schuylkill County deputy coroner.

Suspected to have sustained serious injuries in the crash was Lucas Forker, 46, of Tresckow. Police said he was transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

Police said the crash happened when Forker, driving a 2017 Dodge Ram truck southbound, crossed the median and both northbound lanes and the truck crashed headon into a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Finley. Police said the Equinox was northbound and was merging onto Interstate 81 at the time.

Police are seeking witnesses to the incident they said remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed it is asked to call the barracks at 570-874-5300.

Multiple agencies, including McAdoo Fire and EMS, Kline Township Fire, Hometown Fire, Lehighton ALS, McAdoo Police, and Hazle Township Fire, responded to the scene.
