Franklin Township secures third straight victory
Franklin Township remained undefeated with a win over the Northwest Cyclones, while Jim Thorpe, Berlinsville and Northern Valley all put together competitive efforts during Tuesday’s baseball action.

Franklin Township improved to 3-0 on the season with a complete team performance in a 7-2 win over the Northwest Cyclones in Lehigh Valley Junior Connie Mack play.
Jake Albert earned the win, allowing two runs on four hits over 4.2 innings with three strikeouts and two walks. Alex Kish picked up the save, working 2.1 scoreless innings and striking out three while allowing just one hit.
Albert also went 2-for-4 with two runs scored from his leadoff spot. Brock Atwood led the offense with a 4-for-4 performance that included an RBI and two stolen bases. Jaxson Markell added two hits and scored twice, while Carter Spotts, Kish, Landan Steigerwalt, Korbin Ahner and Roman White each chipped in with hits as part of Franklin’s 13-hit effort.
Franklin swiped 10 bases in the game, with multiple steals from Atwood, Spotts, Albert and Markell.
K. Rosario Jr. had two hits and a run scored for the Cyclones, while J. Baez doubled and drove in a run.

Coplay-Jim Thorpe
Jim Thorpe fell behind 13-0 after two innings but battled back in a 17-11 loss to Coplay in LV Jr. Connie Mack action.
The Olympians scored six in the third, helped by RBI singles from both Lucas Knopf and Parker Grant, and an RBI fielder’s choice by Abel Roberts. Kade Levan led the way with a 3-for-3 effort that included two doubles, a single, a walk and two runs scored. Knopf had a double, single, walk, three runs scored and three RBIs.

Northern Valley jumped out to an early lead but couldn’t hang on in extras, falling 7-6 to Lehigh Bethlehem.
Tanner Fronina led the Chargers with two singles, a double, a run scored and three RBIs.
Nathan Kinney walked twice and scored twice. Miguel Medina had two singles for Lehigh Bethlehem.

Berlinsville opened its Blue Mountain League season with a narrow 4-3 loss to the Northern Yankees, despite outhitting the hosts 7-3.
The Yankees used a key three-run third inning to gain the edge. Nick Henry had a single, walk, run scored and two RBIs, while Bobby Cronenberger added a hit and RBI.
Berlinsville’s Austin Mueller had a single, double and scored a run.
