May 27, 2004 — Panther Valley slugs three homers to help produce a 14-4 victory over Notre Dame-East Stroudsburg in a District 11 Class 1A quarterfinals contest. The Panthers, coached by John Cooper, get longballs from Dave Blasko, Joel Porambo and Chas Field. Blasko connects for a two-run shot in the fourth inning, while Porambo and Field both blast solo homers in the sixth. Blaso ends 3-for-3, while brother Brandon Blasko finishes with two triples. Winning pitcher Frank Maurer, who strikes out seven in his six innings of work, helps his own cause with a two-run triple.
