Lehighton Area School District Election Update

Voters in East Penn, Franklin and Mahoning townships and Lehighton, Parryville and Weissport boroughs participated in balloting today for positions on the Lehighton Area School District board. There are five spots set to be filled this year, including four four-year terms and one two-year term, and there is competition in the Primary Election for both terms.

Eight people are seeking both Democratic and Republican nominations for the four four-year terms. They are Kirk Henritzy, Duane A. Dellecker, Alex Matika, Lory A. Frey, Kasara B. Weinrich, Joy Beers, Denise Hartley and Timothy M. Tkach.

Seeking both parties’ nominations for the two-year term are Darrin Dotter and William Howland.

Palmerton Area School District Election Update

Voters in Bowmanstown and Palmerton boroughs and Towamensing and Lower Towamensing townships cast their ballots today for nominations on the Palmerton Area School District board. Four four-year terms are up for grabs.

There is competition for the GOP nomination, as five candidates appear on that ballot, including Michael George, Earl Paules, Danielle Paules, Erin Snyder and Stacey Connell. George is the lone candidate to have cross-filed petitions and appears as the only Democratic candidate.
